Hi there, welcome to my travel blog. My name is Rachel and I was born and raised on Cape Cod Massachusetts. I am a young woman with a passion for all things travel, food and adventure. I am always looking out for my next adventure, whether it be a weekend getaway in my home state or a trip across the country. One of my most favorite things to do while traveling is discovering local cuisine and trying new foods. I am always eager to learn more about different culinary traditions which then I bring back to my catering company that I own on Cape Cod. I love the excitement of discovering a new and unknown place.
Faraway Nantucket
Location: 29 Centre St. Nantucket, MA
The Faraway Nantucket is a quaint hotel located in the heart of downtown Nantucket. It is a short walk or drive from the ferry port and is in the center of everything. This hotel offers spacious rooms uniquely decorated with an eclectic design. The hotel vibe is laid back with a sophisticated touch. You will feel like you are on vacation the moment you step foot in this Nantucket hotel.
I have stayed at Faraway on Nantucket twice and each time has been delightful. I have stayed for leisure and for business and both times I felt well taken care of. I have provided a complete review and guide to the property.
The first time I stayed at Faraway was in July of 2020 when it was originally The Roberts Collection. It has now since changed to the Faraway. The rooms and hotel have definitely gone through a transformation and I will be focusing my review on the latest stay I had in June of 2022.
The atmosphere: Faraway Nantucket has such a cool atmosphere leaving you feeling like you have been transported. You are welcomed by a high tech check-in system which allows you to have a smooth check-in process. Who doesn’t love that? You are immediately drawn in by a fun vibrant vibe which is carried throughout the hotel. There are several different Cape Cod style buildings that surround the courtyard and restaurant. Each building has a collection of rooms which focus on design with a Nantucket flair.
I had a wonderful stay in the Gate House the room was located on the top floor. It was spacious, well light and decorated beautifully. The bathroom was also equally as spacious with a walk in shower. The beds were extremely comfortable and that is always something I look for in a hotel. The room was equipped with a stocked mini fridge and a platter of Nantucket snacks.
The Restaurant: There is one restaurant located on the property called Sister Ship it is “a restaurant, cafe and relaxed cocktail club”. When I stayed at this property I did not get to enjoy the restaurant to its full extent, but it was absolutely beautiful. In the mornings I was able to sit outside on their patio and drink a cup of tea. Tea and coffee is complimentary for the guests that stay here.
The Amenities: When you stay at this property I highly recommend using their complementary bikes that they provide their guests. It makes for an enjoyable and easy way to navigate the island. The hotel is located right in the center of town which makes this hotel a great home base. You can start your mornings by enjoying a light breakfast at their cafe and take one of their bikes for a cruise around town, visit the beaches and the historic landmarks that this little island has to offer.
