POP these in your mouth! I love topping these scrumptious little bites on a fresh salad, the fried cheese pairs so perfectly with the freshness of the greens. If you’re interested in the salad we created please visit that recipe below!

What you need
Goat cheese log: I was able to pick up some blueberry goat cheese from our local grocer. If you can’t find blueberry, plain would do or any other variation! You want to buy the log of goat cheese and not crumbles.
Panko: you want to use panko and not bread crumbs. We recommend panko because it is drier, creating a crispier less greasy result when fried.
All purpose flour: I used an all purpose flour for this recipe, you can use what you have!
Spices: I just used salt and pepper to taste!
Step 1: SET THE SCENE
Prep your station – you will need three bowls, you will be breading your goat cheese. One bowl will require all purpose flour, the second bowl will require a whisked egg and the third bowl will require the panko, dash of salt and pepper.
Step 2: CUT THE CHEESE
I recommend chilling your goat cheese before cutting – goat cheese isn’t always easy to cut. If you can pop your cheese into the freezer for 10 minutes I would recommend doing so. Cut your goat cheese in half inch slices. You should end up with 6 or 7 slices from a large goat cheese log.
Step 3: BREAD YOUR CHEESE
First fully coat your goat cheese slice with the all purpose flour, your egg wash and then panko. Repeat this process until you are done. I would recommend chilling your goat cheese bites in the freezer for 10 minutes before frying.
Step 4: FRY!
In a saute pan drizzle some oil and let come to high heat. I used avocado oil, but olive oil would do just fine. Place your goat cheese bites into your pan and let brown on each side for 3 minutes.
Step 5: ENJOY!
Take off heat and enjoy these bites on top of a fresh salad or with a fresh baguette, however the day may be going, we don’t judge! We drizzled some locally sourced honey on top – highly recommended!

I loved trying this recipe! I was able to use a cranberry goat cheese that I found at the grocery store. The goat cheese was so soft inside, great texture. I will be making this again.
